Let’s set the record straight together.  Blogging during the summertime is apparently much harder than it sounds.  Everything has been so crazy, and mixed up… but now I feel like the excitement of summer is settling down, and all my friends are leaving to head back to school, while I hang out working, and searching for a new grown-up job.

In the meantime, summer was rockin.  Holding down a 40 hour a week job, while still finding time to hang out every day was a blast.  Also, I had one of the best times ever in Las Vegas for my birthday, where we saw Blink-182 on night 2 of their reunion tour.  It was “Mark Tom and Travis Show” meets everything Blink had built since then.  The legend will never die, and thus my teen years through my 20 somethings will be reserved forever.

Here’s some pictures of recent events now that I feel comfortable carrying a camera again.  I hope to use this blog now as a place to store my photos so I can easily make an image portfolio.

Missouri State University every year puts on a Public Affairs Conference, here are a few pictures from one of the panels I went to listen in on.

After the public affairs shindig, there was much more to be had.  My friends Ryan and Tomas came to visit this weekend from Mizzou, and we adventured to the exotic animal paradise park.  The drive through park lent itself to crazy encounters with a camel, ostrich, zebras, donkeys, and several other animals.

SATO 48 participants are given a mystery package, once opened, the 48 hour timer begins. This filmmaker attempts to get an early look through the envelope.

Sixty-Eight teams showed up for Springfield's SATO 48. A filmmaking competition in which teams are given 48 hours to make a short film.

A SATO 48 team asks one final question before the mystery package is revealed.

Teams were given the instructions to include this blow up flower, as well as an overall theme of a poem to include in their films.

Having answered all final questions, and revealing the mystery package, Jeff Clinkenbeard takes note of the time, and releases all teams.

This is what I’ve been up to lately.  Also, sorry I can never post a full post at once anymore, edits are becoming a must!

So, my friend Amanda, recently posted a forward thing on Facebook that I thought was fun.  Normally, I look at people’s responses, and generally ignore these list forwards.  However, sometimes I’ll find one that I want to partake in, and then I do… and typically only share the result with Brett, who then proceeds to partake as well in secret.

However, now YOU get to play too!

This post is going to be freaking gigantic due to the fact I’m going to try to use it for a few different assignments.  First, obviously for the “Sports shot” criteria, but also for the photo story.  I tried to get every aspect of the stadium, and the team in this shoot.  I have more pics to add to this collection as well, but these were my favs so far!

These pics are from the Home, Lawn and Garden Show at Kansas City’s Bartle Hall Convention Center.  I have more to upload from this, but these are my tentative three I’m putting up for the assignment in photojournalism.

Lancaster Clark Convention Cleaning (LCCC) employee, Ryan Vanmaele is one of several crew members who vacuum booths, and get the convention center cleaned and ready each night.

Company co-owner, Steve Lancaster backs an isle-vac, a riding vacuum cleaner, out of the storage room after opening day of the Home Lawn and Garden Show.

Booths that need to be cleaned are highlighted on a map of the entire building, this is how the crew divides the work throughout the night.

This Post is going to be my environmental profile pics on the owner of Finnegan’s Wake downtown… Or at least the first few pics will be for my assignment.

So, I’ll be the first to say the second two pictures are to far away, and trashy.  However, I really like the two different worlds presented in the first pic.
